BETTER LIVING | Why worry?

In my BBM group 'Praying Mums', we discussed this topic yesterday, and somehow, i was led to share it here today. How does this relate to beauty? Stay tuned. I’ll tell you at the end of the post.
One of my best quotes of all time is….
“Why worry when you can pray?”

Indeed, why worry? It will add nothing to your life, rather it will take away things from you. It will steal your joy and happiness, and it’s detrimental to your health….#HighBloodPressureThinz.

Let go and let God.

I used to be a worry wart…..i worried about basically everything! About my hubby, about my kids, parents, siblings, work, money, health….everything! And when i worry, God will just ask me to pray instead of worry. When my kids are at school, i worry about them and think dark thoughts, and God will chide me saying that He's the one that watches over us all, so even if i was there with them, He will still be THE ONE who will watch over me too, so i should just quit with the worrying already and pray!
And i pray.
So, i’ve  learnt to just pray and cover everything, and God doesn’t disappoint.

I love this passage from the book of Matthew…

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,
29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. (Matt. 6:25-32).

Pray. Trust God. Go to sleep.

It’s all God my dears….it’s all Him. He's in control of everything you can think of. He even cares more than you do, so why kill yourself with worry? Remember Jeremiah 29:11 (another favorite quote of mine from the good book). He said He know the thoughts He thinks for you….good, prosperity, to bring you to an expected end. All you need do is pray and leave it all to Him. It’s only unbelievers that should worry. As a believer, you should know your inheritance in God and not worry about a thing.

Now, tell me, EVERYTHING you worried yourself about in the past, did they not sort themselves out somehow? I remember worrying about my son because sometime last year, saying ‘Please’, ‘Sorry’ or ‘Thank you’ was an abomination to him. No matter how much i scolded, shouted, or gave him time-outs, he never used those words. I worried so much about it, then I decided to report him to God. Today, He willingly says ‘Please’, ‘Sorry’, and ‘Thank you’….as in the words just comes easily to him. I have resolved to quit worrying. Seriously. And you best do the same because apart from stealing your joy and causing harm to your health, you could develop ‘worry lines’ and wrinkles, and it’s not a pretty sight at all.…..There! That’s how it concerns beauty *Ntoin*

Worry less, pray more.

I leave you with this quote from the book of Genesis ……

“Don’t worry about your personal belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.” (Gen 45:20)

Besos.
