My favourite time of the year has always been that moment when the clock strikes 12am on every December 31st night, ushering in the new year……the cross-over……Magical! I really can't describe that feeling. It’s a feeling of accomplishment, of victory, of extreme gratitude, of hope, of anticipation and joy all rolled in one! Every 31st night, i just stay awake praying with my family into the new year, all the while fixing my eyes on my wall-clock, wristwatch or phone, waiting for the cheer and the celebratory display of fireworks which follow that moment.

In 2013, i had a lot to be thankful for. God was just too wonderful to me and mine……and i really cannot thank Him enough. Is it easy to be alive from year to year? Do you know how many people that cross over into the new year bed-ridden and occupying hospital beds? So many are sorrow-laden and burdened with heavy hearts….so why shouldn’t i praise Him? He fulfilled all His promises to me in 2013. On the afternoon of the 31st of December 2012, i was taking a midday nap when i dreamt about someone who told me to name 2013 my year of light and fruitfulness. I did just that, and everything i did throughout the year yielded fruit…..isn’t that amazing? My resolution in 2013 was to always put God first in everything i did. I stuck to it, and it really changed my life. I’ll continue with that this new year and watch God at work.

My makeup career for instance who woulda thunk that i would have come this far in just the space of 1 year and 2 months? Did i even know my wee ‘lil blog will have an audience? I owe all this to God and to you my lovely loyal readers and clients…..may God bless you all for me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

2014, i’m soooo ready for you! I’m filled with excitement and anticipation ‘cos i have a feeling that God will hammer me with one big surprise this year even though i have no clue what it is yet. Do you know what it is? Come whisper in my ear..loolz! I have a lot lined up for my blog and my business. Watch out for more content and quality. My studio will also officially open this year, and of course i’m having a new-born baby this year *widest grin ever*. Chai i can't wait to stroke the curly hair and rub baby powder and oil on the baby.

Mish is already curious about the baby and i think it’s time to start getting her ready for the big  arrival. Next time i go to the ‘Game’ store at the palms, i’ll buy her one of those baby dolls complete with a change of clothes, feeding bottles the stroller and tiny car seat. That way, she’ll understand all that will happen when the baby arrives. Dindu doesn’t even care about all that mushy stuff…..all he wants is my ipad. I don’t even know who owns the ipad anymore…..me or him…he always wants to play one game or the other. He’s memorized my password and unlocks it at will. Do you know that most times, when i’m using my ipad and i hear his footsteps approaching, i quickly hide it under the bed, chair, pillow, wherever……yes it haff rish like that ooo!

My prayer for you this year is that God’s face will shine upon you all, and you will experience the best of 2014. You will not have sorrow, you will not mourn, you will know no pain. God will elevate and bless you all with health, joy, prosperity and peace this year, and no plan of your enemies will be established.

So this year will be beautiful. I believe i will have cause to rejoice and laugh all year round. I will experience no disappointments, sorrow or pain…NEVER! Hence, i have named it 'My year of joy and laughter'

What did you name yours?

Happy new yearrrrr!!!!!

Lanre got re-defined!

Today is the last saturday of the year! Can you believe it? I'm so grateful to God...you have no idea! 2014 is just next week ooooo! 4 days away, so how far....any new resolutions?

Last saturday was my big sister's wedding, and i thought she was going to be my last bride for the year, but some days ago, i was contacted to do Lanre's makeup today...... how could i refuse eh kwa?

So today was the big day. I keep wondering what it is about wedding days that make the brides glow even before their makeup is applied.....there is this beautiful glow about them that i love.....perhaps it's the joy and excitement emanating from within. Noice! Lanre was no different today...black is indeed beaurrriful.

B 'n D makeover | Glittery christmas

I did a christmas look this morning using the main christmas colors i know.....Red, gold and green. I added a little pizzaz by topping it all with a little gold glitter, and then i 'ruby woo-ed' my lips...

Lookey see.....

It's another christmas, how wonderful!

Thank you God for keeping us all. It's not easy at all. Some people died yesterday....yet here we all are.

I can't believe how fast this year went.....or is it just me? Today for the first time, i didn't stay home all day on christmas day, rather i went out with my family to go have some christmasy fun!

I remember how fun christmas used to be when we were kids. We travelled to our village every year (our dogs inclusive) and on christmas day, my mum would cook up a storm and visitors would keep trooping into our house. It was always so cold there but we loved it!

Thank you so much!

Good morning lovelies.....

How are you all doing? I trust that all is well.

Today, i decided to do do a "Thank you" post. We didn't win the award for the 'Best beauty blog' this time, but hey!......there are other years to come. Honestly, i really didn't expect to win *covers face*

Well, for one...because my blog is still not even up to a year old, and the other nominees in my category had been there long before me. That's why my nomination came as a huge shock to me! It hit me "WHAM!" and left me breathless. Till today, i keep wondering how come?

Nonye got re-defined!

Good morning dears....

The lovely Nonye booked my services as early as February this year for a bridal makeover on her wedding day which was yesterday the 14th of December. I was surprised that she booked so early, and i was humbled at the same time because she didn't want anyone else to book my services for that same day. She got to know me through this blog.

The Christmas beauty a'fair in pictures

My dears, finally i attended a makeup fair!

It’s no longer news that i missed the last fair (LMUF) and that i was totally heart-broken about that….. so last Sunday, i knew that even rain would not have stopped me from attending the Christmas beauty a’fair.  I had no one to accompany me, and i didn’t know how to get there but i just entered my car and drove off to Ikeja knowing that somehow, i WOULD get to the venue. Thankfully, there was no traffic from Festac to Ikeja, so i got there in record time.... it wasn't hard to find afterall.

When i got there, guess who the first people i saw were…….Sisi Yemmie and Bobo Yommie in the flesh!!! Choi….see my excitement…..as in i totally didn’t expect to see them there.  She really is a pleasant person, and she said she loved my makeup *bats eyelashes*

BETTER LIVING | Christ in you.

Some days ago, a friend of mine shared a link with our bible-study group on blackberry. That story touched hasn't left my mind since, so i thought to share it with you all in this 'Better-living' segment. Please read it, and i pray it touches a part of you too......

Pastor Jeremiah Steepek transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning.

He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service, only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him.

He asked people for change to buy food – no one in the church gave him change.

He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit in the back.

He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.

As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such.

When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation.

“We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek.” The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.

The homeless man sitting in the back stood up and started walking down the aisle. The clapping stopped with all eyes on him.

He walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment then he recited,

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

‘The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning. Many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.

He then said, “Today I see a gathering of people, not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples. When will YOU decide to become disciples?”

He then dismissed service until next week.

Following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ should be more than just talk. It ought to be a lifestyle that others around you can love about you and share in.

So my questions to you today are.......

"If you were part of the congregation, would you have said 'hello' to the homeless man? Would you have given him change to buy food if he asked you? Would you have answered him if he greeted you?"

I leave you to ponder....And i hope this strikes a chord in you like it did in me.
