Rant time! #MINC

So, the very first MakeUp In Nigeria conference is going on right at the Oriental hotel, and here i am, sitting on my bed, breastfeeding baby (TMI?). Can you imagine? And it's killing me! It's really killing me!

Actually, i thought i would still be pregnant now, and my reason for planning not to attend was that i would have been almost due now, and i didnt want to 'born my shild' in the conference hall or worse still....while in the car....oh the horror! But as it turned out, i had my Rainbow early, and i still couldn't attend 'cos i'm still recuperating. #LeSigh

MUA alert!

Hello beauties,

It's an MUA alert post. Y'all know why i do these posts once in a while....it's to give MUAs in other states a platform to showcase their work so that readers of my blog in their states (yep! I have plenty readers *bats lashes*) can see their work, save their contacts and call them when their services are needed.

So here's introducing Adaobi Okafor of  'Dobzi fingers'.  She's a free-lance makeup artist based in the East/South, but she basically goes where work calls.
She's really passionate about what she does. I enjoyed reading her answers to my questions so grab your zobo and kuli-kuli, pop-corn and coke, groundut and kunu, or pizza and soda and enjoy!

PRODUCT REVIEW | Maybelline baby lips

Good morning beautiful people,

It's a beautiful morning, a day the Lord has made!

This post is a product review which is loooong over-due. Before i got my first Maybelline baby lips, i was using the Aloe lips lip balm by Forever living products, and it worked just fine for me......well, until pregnancy happened. After a while, nothing worked anymore....my moisturizers, my lip balm, even my signature perfume had a smell like cow poopoo! #Hormones

It's a rainy sunday morning over here in Festac-town and i'm really loving eeet! Yesterday, i did a bridal makeover for Grace and her maid of honor. Thankfully, she was getting dressed in Festac, so i didn't have to drive very far. I got there in record time and finished in record time too! Yaaaaaay meee!!

PRODUCT REVIEW | Hegai & Esther 99% Isoprophyl alcohol brush cleaner

Hello beauties!
I’m here once again to share another product by Hegai & Esther with y’all. But first of all… *go down low* loolz…just goofing. First of all, how are you all doing? Wonderful i hope.
Have i mentioned how much i love the Hegai & Esther brand? Some of their products are really great, and when i find something i love (no matter the brand), i share. *winks*

By the way, this is a review.

That's the extra spray bottle on the right

Now, the first time i heard read about their 99% Isopropyl Alcohol was on Yemisi’s blog. She did a review on it, and i thought i should buy a bottle and give it a try. I figured i needed it because i do makeup trainings, and i can't wash the brushes in between uses by the students, so i thought the spray will be perfect since it dries quickly. That way, the brushes will be clean for all the students to share.

Amara graduates!

Amara registered for makeup training at Blushes 'n Dimples Makeup school 7 weeks ago, and she finally completed her training session last week. It was a hectic 6 weeks because we had to struggle to make sure she 'got it' before she completed her 6 weeks at the school. And i'm glad that there was a lot of improvement in her work compared to when we began.

Elsie got re-defined!

Hola chicas bonitas!
Sometime last week, i received a call from a posh sounding lady with a bri’ish accent. I was like ‘Hoin?’ Which british lady has found my number ooooo?’
She said she got my contact on the internet, and she wanted me to make her mum and herself up for her brother’s upcoming wedding. So we negotiated and agreed on a fee. Then she revealed to me that i actually know her!
#Gasp!
Then she told me that we went to high school together, and that she has twin daughters and a new baby girl……that was all the clue i needed, i screamed out ‘ELSIEEEEEEEE!!!’. The last time i saw her was on her wedding day 6 years ago.

PRODUCT REVIEW / MAKEOVER | 'Pink shadows' ft Sleek eyedust in 'Drama'

Hello dears…… How have you been? Hope good.

So today, i got kinda bored and decided to use my bloated face to review the Sleek eye dust i got in my sleek goody bag some weeks ago. I got a matte black eye dust in ‘Drama’……it’s actually a loose eyeshadow before you’ll be wondering what an eye dust is again. Loolz!

I didn’t realize how much i missed working on my face. Even though what i did was a very simple look, i enjoyed doing it. I still maintain that i HAVE to take basic photography classes ‘cos i’m not utilizing my pro camera well. I own a Canon 600D (thanks to my sis), and it has a lot of settings which i have no idea how to use. Last Sunday at the makeup fair, a nice photographer saw me struggling with my camera trying to take a picture of the amazing d├ęcor by Torge events, i couldn’t seem to get it right at all, but he came, flicked some buttons and turned some knobs and when he eventually took the pictures, i was like ‘WOW! TEACH ME! Well, he tried to, but i got lost at some point. Oh well…….

Show 'n tell | My new brush holder.

Hello!

I dunno if this is a review or not, it's more of a 'Show 'n tell'……i just want to show you one of the things i bought at the fair.

So, in my post yesterday, i mentioned buying a glass brush holder with water-gels from Hegai & Esther’s stand at the Maybelline makeup fair last Sunday. The first i saw the brush holder was on their blackberry display picture (‘cos i happen to have them on my blackberry contacts). It looked so lovely and i knew i had to have it. If you know me well, you would know that i’m a total sucker for beautiful, attractive, colorful and unique stuff……that’s why i avoid Iponri market like a plague. If you’ve been to that market, you would know what i’m talking about. Whenever i go shopping there for my kid’s birthday party-packs, i ensure that i leave my debit cards at home, and i go with just the exact amount i need. If not, wahala go dey ‘cos i will seriously over-spend and then cry all the way home.

But i digress…….

So, as i was saying, when i saw the picture, i just had to get the holder for my studio, but the problem was how to go and get it from their store. Festac is far from Ikeja, and i loathe driving in traffic. So you can imagine my joy when i got to their stand at the fair, and there sitting on the table in all its glory was the beautiful glass! The first thing that struck me was the size of it. It looked bigger than i expected, and i was well pleased.

the gels were really tiny before i soaked them
