And the winner issss..............

'Ello Baes.....

This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but the contestants made things difficult for me, so i got tired and confused. I just brought myself to compile the results right now, and it wasn't still as straightforward as i would have liked it to be.....i had to add a twist to it....you would see how that happened below...

Ladies, the instructions were very clear " No multiple entries. Follow me on any of my social networks , mention the particular social network and your handle. Tell us what you love about christmas, your name and email address". ..... and i even gave an example:

"I love Christmas because it's so festive, and i get to reunite with all my cousins and family again. Giselle Ezeh. giselleezeh@yahoo.com. I'm following you on twitter, and my handle is @gigiez"

So why did i have to disqualify 11 entries?!! *very sad face*

Ok, i'll tell you why....

December! Christmas!! Hamarttan!!!

'Elloooooou'....eeeeeeees me.......

How have you been?

Have you read my feature on 'Wives Connection' blog? Click to visit the blog and read it all up.

So, few days ago, we welcomed what i consider to be the worst weather of the year *my opinion though*...oh how i detest hamarttan! My nose is dry so breathing is kinda painful, my lips frequently get dry despite constant moisturizing, and my eyes sting because of the harsh wind.

To make matters worse, my house is situated on the main-road so everywhere is constantly covered with dust! I clean everyday, and it doesn't matter if i clean 5 times a day...the dust still settles on all surfaces and annoys the shit out of me! I keep all doors and windows shut, and lately, i started stuffing underneath the doors with newspapers and cloth pieces...still the dust still manages to creep in and settle.

Right now, i'm battling sore-throat and all that comes with it....but on the bright side, i'm excited that it's almost Christmas! *Yippieeeee!*. Tomorrow, i would start setting up my christmas decorations and everything....put the family in that 'Christmas-ey mood'.

Oh, and of course there would be a chrismas giveaway right here! If you've been missing out on giveaways on the blog, try not to miss this one.

Alright dears, thought i should just pop in and say 'hi'.

Have a good night.....

B 'n D Makeover | Color burst

Hello ladies...

It's been quite a while since my last makeover post..

So, there's this piece of ankara head-wrap my mum left over at my place after Zuri's omugwo. It's been sitting pretty in my wardrobe for a very long time, and last week, i was like "'Warrahell', let me do a look with this fabric and post on the blog".

I was going to do the look since Friday, but Zuri gave me a fat upper lip on Thursday during one of her tantrums. I was trying to restrain her as she yelled and cried, and 'WHAM!!', she bashed the right side of my upper lip with the back of her head. I almost cried *i'm not ashamed to say....the pain was intense!*. My lip cut, and it started to swell up immediately. I shouted, and she in turn stopped crying and stared at me with a shocked look on her face.

It's been 3 days and it's still slightly swollen, but i couldn't hold off the makeover any longer.....the lip products concealed it well, but if you look closely, you can still see the bump. Oh well, i'll just chalk it up as one of the 'battle scars' of motherhood! *Tehehehehe!*.

Ok, so the Ankara fabric has Blue, Silver, Brick and yellow on it *even though i didn't incorporate the yellow color into the look*.

B 'n D Makeover | Pink October (Breast cancer awareness)

Hello Ladies.....

It's October.....Breast cancer awareness month.

I've never done this before *covers face*..... and i almost didn't support the cause again this year. Ok, see ehn, i planned to do this yesterday. I took my makeup box upstairs and did a complete look....highlighting, contouring and all. But for some reason, the lip color wasn't working, and i wasn't even in the mood to change it and try another *my back pain was killing me*,  so i just went into my bathroom, washed it all off and went to watch 'One tree hill'. Total waste of time and products.....some looks don't make it to the blog.

Then today, the spirit moved me, and i decided to try again, and i loved what i came up with.....

Oh, and by the way, 'Illusions Cosmetics' lip color in 'Bare Pink' is bae!!! I loveeeeeet!

RANT | Stop the violence against Makeup Artists!!!

Hey ladies.....

Yesterday, i read a story that shocked me out of my wits on Instagram.

First of all, when i saw the picture on Yemisi's BBM, i thought that by violence, they meant the disregard and the belittling that most Makeup artists have to deal with..... I had no idea until i strolled to instagram and read the story and it chilled me to my bones.

A makeup artist went to her client's house to do her job, and she was beaten, strangled, totured and traumatized for over 1 hour, and after the harrowing experience, the client insisted that she should wash her face and proceed to still do the makeup. She begged and pleaded for her life before she was let go. Her phones were even destroyed.

WHAT?!!!

What arrant nonsense is this?!

This is one of the reasons why i'm content with just running my blog, my makeup school and my jewelry business. This is one of the reasons why i no longer take bridal jobs. I know i can't stand it when i'm spoken to or treated in a belittling manner....i don't take it well at all.

B 'n D Makeover | Purple vamp

Hey Dolls!

I've missed smoking out my eyes......my best look of all times! Why do i love the smokey look? Let me count the reasons....

It's very versatile....you can wear it as a day look, a night look, a bridal look, a red carpet look, an editorial/fashion look.

It's very classy.

It suits everyone!

However, not everyone knows how to smoke it out well since it's supposed to have the 'smoked out' effect , as in fade out as it gets to the crease. I did a pictorial on how to get it right in the past....if you missed it, click HERE....you shouldn't be caught walking around with a black swipe on your eyelids in the name of smokey eyes....police will arrest you! *LMAO...they really should arrest you*.

So for this look, i used a matte purple eyeshadow from my new Morphe Brushes eyeshadow palette in 35N in my crease and blended the black into it.

See, my brow-bone highlight is popping! Chei!
Speaking of Morphe Brushes eyeshadow palettes, i recieved the 35N from Haute beauty world.... i would still do a review. By the way, have you seen 35B? It is Bae!!!

PRODUCT REVIEW | Illusions cosmetics

Hello!

I'm so sorry for not posting the review when i said i would.....the truth of the matter is that i got busy and i forgot. I remembered this afternoon on my way home from picking the kids from school. "Choyi" like Zuri would say.... that means 'Sorry' in her language.

Ok, let's do this.....

First is the Blush Perfect in 'Cherry Bomb'. This is a nicely pigmented pink blush which applies sheer and smoothly. However, it's buildable, so you can apply it till it's as intense as you would like it to be. I used this blush in my last makeover post, and i loved it.

'Cherry Bomb'

Next, we have the Eye lights which are loose shimmery eyeshadows. I was sent the 'Gun Metal' and the 'Blue Sky' shades. I used them for my last makeover post too. The eye lights also have great color pay-off , and they are smooth and blend quite well. There's nothing as annoying as an eyeshadow that is stubborn when you try to blend it. These Illusion Cosmetics eye lights blend well, so have no fear.

B 'n D Makeover | Illusions Cosmetics

Hey!

How's your sunday going?

I couldn't let today pass by without doing a makeover post.....i can't believe how long it's been! I almost didn't do the makeover 'cos i really didn't feel like it today, all i wanted to do was go to church, come back home and watch One Tree Hill all day, but the fear of you guys pushed me to lug my box upstairs and set to work. Some of you sent mails like "Madam how far? No more makeup looks?". Someone even accused me of forgetting my first love (makeup) and paying more attention to the beaded accessories *sniffs and wipes tears*..... Eeeeees nor like that plix!

So, to create this look, i used most of the Illusions Cosmetics products Denise sent to me.

Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conferences 2015 ( Event Pictures )

Hello everyone....

The highly anticipated Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conferences ended yesterday, and it was as awesome as was expected.

A lot of people who didn't make it in 2014 found their way to Eko Hotel this time because they couldn't afford to be left out again. And i'm pretty sure that they were not disappointed because many of them got to meet the big names in the industry who they never thought they would ever meet, but the conference provided the platform where they could meet, mingle, take pics and lots of selfies with these people....how cool is that?

They also got to learn lots of skills and tips from the industry's professionals. On day 1, Bimpe Onakoya who i love *too much* created a fantasy look on her gorgeous model using gold leaves. Khuraira Musa taught the A-Z of airbrushing, Fatima Mamza *beautiful Fati* taught her class the fundamentals of color and complexion for the bridal beauty.

*warning.....picture overload*

Back to school!

Hello babes.....

Shit just got real!

Of course i knew they would eventually go back to school, I have been looking forward to the peace and quiet i would enjoy while they are all away at school, but honestly, i wasn't really looking forward to the stress involved in the school runs.....and it's more difficult this time 'cos i have to drive to 2 different schools at 3 different times (It's same school, but 2 different locations) *naaaah, i don't do school bus, no matter how busy i am, i would rather drive my kids to and fro school by myself.....thank you vewy mulsh!*.

They were watching cartoons

Another reason why i wasn't looking forward to school resumption is that Zuriel was starting school too. Her first day away from me and away from home. She's one year and 5 months old *this baby i gave birth to yesterday ooo!* Where did all the time go? My baby is all grown up and off to school. I was worried 'cos i thought she would cry and then i would have to join her and cry too *lool!*, but the proprietress had already promised me that if i cried, she would take a video of me and send to the school's whatsapp group for other parents to see *Lmao!*.

BRAND INTRODUCTION | Illusions Cosmetics

Good morning!

I get really excited each time i get to use a brand of products i've never used before. There's this thrill i can't quite explain.

So many months ago, i was contacted by Denise Tunnell, one of the owners of 'Illusions Cosmetics', and she wanted to send me some of their products to use.

Now, just in case you didn't really get that, let me explain better....

Denise and Janice Tunnell (a gorgeous set of twins) are celebrity makeup artists in the US who have worked on the faces of Gabrielle Union, Idris Elba, Regina King, Taraji .P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Terrence Howard, Josh Henderson, Rosie 'O Donnell and many more. They have also worked behind the scenes of movies like "The wedding crashers", "Stomp the yard", "Vampire Diaries", "Preachers kid", "The wire", etc.

So how could i say no? *Haff i craze ni? loool!*.

The sisters created 'Illusions Cosmetics' in 2006, and have been producing a full line of cosmetics for women of color.

They had been trying to send me these products for months now, but the packages kept getting lost in transition. Eventually, my parents were visiting the US, and Denise was kind enough to send another set of products to them to bring home to me. Finally, the products arrived, and of course i have pics to show you.......

2 lipstick palettes.
1 Perfect blush in 'Cherry bomb'.
2 Eye lights in 'Gun metal' and 'Blue sky'.
1 Gel eyeliner in 'Peacock'.
1 lipgloss in 'Drew'.
1 lipstick in 'Geranium'.

Lupita Nyong'o stuns in blue!

Hello babes...

If you are on Instagram, you prolly have seen this picture. I have seen it about 4 different times, but each time i see it, i'm like 'wow!'. This is the best picture i've ever seen of Lupita so far! As in....!

I mean......what's not to love?

Her hair is perfectly coiffed, her makeup is on point! *i especially love the lip color*, her dress is really lovely and the color suits her skin tone. Whoever said that 'Black is beautiful' was totally right! Lupita is just a perfect example. Her skin always has this smooth shiny glow.

I think dark-skinned ladies are really beautiful. I had a friend waaay back in college who thought the same too. Back then, she would look for creams that would darken her complexion 'cos she really wanted to be dark-skinned.

Black is truly beautiful!

Hey, have you registered to attend the Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conference? click HERE to do so. Remeber, it's FREE to attend. I look forward to seeing you there...

This year, more than 30 international and regional speakers such as Khuraira Musa, Banke Meshida Lawal, Lola Maja, Bimpe Onakoya, Dionne Smith, Junior Green, Fatima Mamza, Dr Vivian Oputa and many more will be leading hour long demos to share their expertise and help you to better your business.

See ehn, you as a makeup artist, skin care specialist or hair care specialist should regard this Exhibition & Conference as VERY important to you and for the growth of your business.....you get? Like we have been trying to make you understand, this is a very golden opportunity for you to learn and grow your business. You get to mingle with your colleagues and mentors in the industry and learn from them. It is not everyday that you meet professionals such as those mentioned above and learn from them.

Even if you attend for one day, it's fine. See this AH-mazing Makeup Artist!

Hey babes!

So there's this Lady i've been following for a while on Instagram. Her name is Magali Beauvue, and she's from Paris. This lady has the ability to morph into any celebrity *male or female* just by altering her facial features using highlighting & contouring.

How talented can one person be? The way she pays attention to every little detail is really something to admire.

Watch the video below to see how she transformed her face into Barack Obama's face.

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION | The perfume oil

Hello babes....

Cold sunday over here.....it's quite nice.

Ok, so this is an introduction to a wonderful new product i received last week.....it's called 'The perfume oil'.  When i got it, i wasn't sure what to make of it at first because it's in oil form and i've never used any fragrance in oil form in my life. I went ahead and used it.....and boy am i impressed!

Every single time i've worn this perfume oil, i get asked "What did you spray? It smells soooo good". I even used the 'Pink sugar' one yesterday, and up till this morning, i could smell it on me *No, i didn't shower last night 'cos it was so cold over here jooooor!*.

Since it's oil, i don't think you should spray it on your clothes, rather, massage the oil into your skin. I apply on the sides of my neck, my cleavage, my wrists, behind my ears, and the insides of my elbow.....basically my 'pulse points'. Once my skin absorbs the oil, the fragrance of the oil blossoms and everyone around me *including myself* can smell it all day.

Usually, most store-bought perfumes are mixtures of perfume oils diluted with lots and lots of alcohol *which most likely irritates the skin*. Perfume oils last longer and don't irritate the skin...rather, they are even moisturizing and are suitable for any skin type. Believe me, they are really, really nice!

I used to be a 'Spray-on fragrance' type of girl, but now, i'm totally converted biko! Hahaha!

Here's what the company says:

"Smell gorgeous at no excessive cost......if you love to smell good, this message is for you. Personally, i love to smell good, that is why we have invested time and effort on researching on quality, long lasting & smells. Why? According to survey, 75% of perfume users complained about their expensive designer perfume smells not lasting long enough. Don't we all feel the same way most times?

B 'n D Makeover | 'Pretty in Pink' ft. Onyi & Temitope

Hullo Beauties.....

So, while today's makeup training session was going on at the studio, Onyi agreed to a face-beat by me. Anyway, she didn't have a choice since she came without a model for her session. I had green and pink on my mind .....the two colors go so well together *blue and pink too!*.

I had a pink gele in the cupboard, and thankfully, 'Temitope' was still available, so we let her adorn Onyi's neck ....the two ladies looked beautiful together *Chuckles*.

PRODUCT REVIEW | Makari De Suisse Makeup products (Pt 1)

Well, hello again!

I promised to review the Makari products i showed you all here. There were a lot of products to review, so for that reason, i'll break the review into two parts. In this part, i'll be reviewing the Foundations, Compact powder, Lip liners & Makeup remover.

MAKARI FOUNDATIONS...

The Makari foundation comes in 30ml bottles , and the product is pumped out from a small nozzle. The foundation is nicely perfumed unlike most foundations which simply have a basic chemical smell. The packaging is really nice, and the product has 4 shades 'TOUCAN',  'TOPI' ,  'WALABI & 'WATUSSI'. 'Topi' being the lightest shade of the lot, and 'Watussi' the darkest shade.

I really like their names and how they sound African.

The product has a thick consistency, and it's water-based. If you don't use it for a long time, the product in the pump gets congealed and then when you try to pump it out, it doesn't come out so easily. When it does come out, the first product you get is dry and thick *as it is with concealers and foundations in tubes and pump dispensers*.......then the rest comes out nicely creamy.

B 'n D Accessories

Helloooooo.....

Good morning everyone.

I've been very busy making accessories......blissfully busy!

First, one wonderful Tanzanian lady living in Germany *yelz! i have obodo-oyibo clients* found my Instagram page and added me on whatsapp from there. She placed orders for 5 jewelry sets from my previous designs, and she said she wanted them exactly the same way they looked in the pictures....same colors and everything. I finished making them and sent them to Germany, and i'm soo happy to say that she's received them! After that, i've been working on the orders from my clients in Nigeria.

Are you following me on IG yet? No? Beht why? My handle is @blushesanddimples ..... oya, start heading there.

So, here are my new babies.........

This is 'SISI YEMMIE' , She's made of Angels skin beads......10 layers of gorgeousness! She's even more beautiful physically. Sisi comes with earrings and a matching bracelet, and you can order her in any color you like.

'Sisi Yemmie'

Next, meet 'CHINYERE'. She's made of crystals and teardrops. You want a unique, exotic look? This babe is the one for you. She's like an egyptian collar/choker, so it's best to wear her with an 'off-shoulder' blouse. Chinyere doesn't come with a bracelet......just a simple pair of earrings. We can play with any colors you choose.

B 'n D Makeover | Bisi

Well hello Babes!

I've been pretty busy.....that's all.

You won't believe that the last time i gave myself a face-beat was on the 30th of june. It seems like ages ago! It actually is a long time *long face*.

If you are not following me on Instagram, i have just one question to ask you.. "Woiz your usefulness in life?" *In Falz the bad guy's voice....ROTFL*. Actually, 2 nights ago, i promised on IG to post a new look yesterday. I did the look, but when it was time to do the post, my laptop refused to work because the charger gave up on us again so i had to go out to buy another charger today. They didn't have it at the store in the morning, so they asked me to come and pick it up this evening. I just got it, and i resolved that the post must go up tonight!
