PRODUCT REVIEW | ColourPop Lippie Stix in 'Leather'.

How have you all been?

I bought this lipstick about 2 months ago, and today, the spirit has moved me to post a review.

This is my very first ´ColourPop Cosmetics´ lipstick, and somehow, i chose to get the colour purple. I don´t know if i´m a sub-conscious purple lover, because when buying lipsticks, i tend to gravitate towards the Purple family...... when indeed my favourite lipstick colours and shades are the Browns.

Did that make sense to you?

Ok then.

I wonder what inspires the names that makeup companies give their lipstick shades....i assume there is a little story behind each one *or not*. Anyway, this one here is called ´Leather´.

I like the packaging of the ColorPop Lippie Stix´. A long, thin tube with an even thinner stick of lipstick in it.

I had already used it before it occurred to me to take pictures.

I don´t twist out a lot of lipstick at a time because i´m afraid it might break in two if i did. Instead, i twist out a little at a time.

The smell of this lipstick reminds me of a brand new rubber doll baby. That´s how best i can describe the smell. Each time i sniff it, i´m transported back to my childhood days when i used to play with rubber dolls. Ok.....the smell makes me happy.

However, i don´t like the fact that the lipstick does not quite apply smoothly on the lips. It applies sheer at first and i have to scrub back and forth to build it up. It´s the scrubbing that i don´t like because it drags on my lips.

But, once you have it on, it is long lasting. Actually when i leave it on my lips for a while, after wiping it off, it leaves a purple stain which doesn´t wear off easily. I kinda like the stain sha...... eeeeez fine.

  1. The Lippie Stix are essentially lipsticks with a littler projectile, which makes them less demanding to apply. Both the Lippie Stix and Pencil retail for $5 per 0.0352oz. That is around 33% of the standard lipstick size (~0.1oz), so they're really evaluated more like a MAC lipstick than a drugstore brand.

I love comments.... please leave some. *Winks*
