If you are an avid follower of my blog, you would have noticed that the MaryKay foundations in 607 & 507 *i was in-between shades* were my go-to foundations since i started my makeup journey. Then early this year, i switched to the BlackUp foundation because a lot a fake productions of MaryKay had infiltrated the Nigerian makeup market......hence, i desperately needed change.
Now, you all know the current situation of our dear country....i need not gist y'all about how expensive everything has become ....including makeup products. i bought my BlackUp foundation bottle for about N9,500 in January, but now a bottle costs about N11,000.
However, that bottle i bought was for my personal use, and i still needed more foundation for my students at the makeup school, but there was no way i would buy more bottles at that alarming rate just for makeup practicals....mba nu! Chukwu aju! *God forbid*. So that's how i became torn between the Maybelline Fit-me foundation and the Milani 2-in-1 foundation.
Of course i went online and read reviews hoping to see the light, and i noticed that there were a lot of positive reviews about the Milani 2-in-1 Foundation, so i went to the Makeup Fair and bought the 3 shades Beauty Kink had at the time..... Spiced Almond, Golden Toffee, and Amber.
The foundation comes in small, sturdy bottles with an effective pump to dispense a small quantity of foundation at a time.
Like the name implies, this product is a Concealer & Foundation *hence the 2-in-1*. So for that reason, the product has a thicker consistency than most foundations, and a little goes a long way.

Now, if you are looking for coverage, this here is your foundation. It actually covers reasonably and blends well. It is also buildable. However, if you are oily-skinned, stay away from it.....It has a very dewy / satin finish which i do not like.
See ehn, i love my foundations matte *and for the record, i'm normal-skinned not oily, but i just love a matte clean, smooth finish*. I haven't used the Milani Foundation on myself, but i have used it on about 4 people......and i wasn't impressed with the finish at all....how come no one mentioned the finish in their reviews? *sad face*.
It says on the bottle that the formular is light-weight *it actually is*, Oil-free *it is as well*, Water-resistant and sweat-proof *i didn't notice these qualities yet*.
Oh, and it oxidizes. This means that it gets darker after a little while. So i would advise going one shade lighter, so that after it actually oxidizes, it would adjust to your skin-tone.
Another con is that the foundation settles into the fine lines on the face around the eyes and the mouth.
'Golden Toffee' is reddish just like MaryKay 607 and 'Amber' is yellowish just like MaryKay 507, so if i want to actually use this foundation on my face, i would be mixing those two shades.
When i use up these bottles, i will not buy it again....well, until Milani Cosmetics makes the matte variant of the foundation anyway.
Besos, and goodnight.
